GIL GARCIA
SECRETARY
Gilbert (Gil) Garcia has been a member of the Museum since he was hired as a Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatcher in September 1991. Following his assignment as the Department’s first Dispatch Training Coordinator, Gil began actively volunteering his time to the Museum; meetings, tours, events. etc. After 16 years and a few promotions later, Gil’s County career took him away from the Fire Department but he remained dedicated to the mission of the Museum to preserve the Department’s history. Eventually Gil was voted in as a Board Member. In these many years, he has been a part of Project 51 ‘The Road to DC’, the implementation of monthly museum open houses, and the opening of the new Museum in 2018.
